Total of 5 - 12V DC Geared Motors of different RPM
2 - 300 rpm
1 - 45 rpm
2 - 10 rpm
1 - 100rpm
Card Board:
A card board of 30cm * 30cm generally what we use for switch boards to make a base for the robot.
Drilling Machine:
An electrical drilling machine or a manual drilling machine which can drill holes of required diameter .
Hacksaw:
Hacksaw of minimum length to the cut the wood blocks of required length.
Tool kit:
A tool kit which consists of Hammer, Screwdriver, cutting plair, Soldering gun etc.
Nuts & Bolts:
Nuts & Bolts of required diameter and length should be used to fix the motors and other things perfectly.
Bus wire:
A bus wire which has a minimum of 10 channels with different color coding of about 5mts in length.
Rack and Pinion:
To fix the arm into the base a Rack and pinion of radius equal to shaft of the motor.
Plastic card board
To fix the motors on a base a plastic board 30cm * 40 cm that can be cut into required shape and size.
Tape:
Different type of tapes such as cello tape, packing tape, cloth tape is used depending on the requirement.
Switches:
A total of 5 SPDT Rocker switches are used of rating 16mA, 250V.
Hub:
A hub used for easy connection between the motors and Bus wire.
Gripping system
Gripper which can capture a block of 4cm*4cm* 8cm
is to designed and interfaced with the arm.
Wheels:
4 wheels of 7 cm diameter with a hole of 0.5 cm diameter at the centre to interface with shaft of the motor.
Wood blocks:
Blocks of wood of required shape and size as per the requirement.
Scale and pencil:
Iron scale or plastic scale along with pencil used for markings as per the requirement.
Rechargeable
A rechargeable battery of 12V weighing about 300gms should be used
Procedure to design the bot
Base of the Bot
- Take the cardboard and drill holes with the help of drilling machine as per the requirement. Proper care must be taken while drilling the holes and see that the screws fix perfectly.
- After you drill the holes fix the wooden blocks to the base of the cardboard this is done to raise the level of the base from the ground.
- Fix a 45 rpm motor which is used for rotation of the arm which the help of a small cardboard placed at the bottom end of the motor and attached to the base with the help of nuts and screws.
- While fixing the Rotating arm Motor proper care must be taken that the motor shaft is perpendicular to the base.
- Two 300 rpm motors are fixed to the base with the help of ‘U’ clamps, nuts & scews.Proper care should be taken such that the two motors align parallel to each other.A free rotating wheel is fixed to the fornt end of the base.Wheels are fixed to the shafts of the two 300 rpm motors
Arm
- The material used for construction for arm is plastic you can use any other material which should be strong enough to balance the weight the arm.
- Take two 10 rpm motors and fix to plastic plates which are in rectangular shape with the help of cranks.(Instead of two 10 rpm motors an encoder motor can be used if available in market).
- To the Rectangular arms fix the gripper which runs on a 100 rpm motor.
Wiring
All the motor wires are brought together and connected to the bus wire with the help of a hub to switches. Hub is used for easy making and braking of connections. The bus wire consists of 12 different color wires so we don’t have any problem in identifying the motor wires.
